The North Yorkshire Moors, Picturesque, tranquil and wonderful. Comprising over 1,400 miles of natural beauty, this enchanting region is home to heather moorland, pine forests, rolling hills and shimmering coastline. Hidden within are historic abbeys, castles and priories, traditional pubs, 'hidden' villages and hamlets.
I always think the title ‘Moors’ gives the wrong impression for this national park when you consider the variety of walking that is on show – Can Roseberry Topping or Captain Cooks monument be considered to be moorland ? Whatever the name, there is something here to keep everyone happy and I’ll be walking in the ‘moors’ for years to come, that’s for sure.
