I've had a very busy May 2021, so not too much walking recently - but things are about to change soon as the summer approaches. A friend of mine from work had recommended I try a walk from Nether Silton as it's one of his favourite areas for walking, so I decided to check out this area which I had never been to before, but then combined it with a bit of the Cleveland Way which I'm very familiar with. Turned out to be a nice circular.

It was a pleasant walk which took roughly 3 hours and although not too strenuous cannot really be categorised as 'Easy' - So I've put this one down as 'Moderate'. The fine weather also ensured a good morning out.

Parking

Parked up in the tiny hamlet of Nether Silton, just a couple of miles east of the busy A19.

A bit of country lane walking initially, but ever so quiet - even for a Bank Holiday Monday

Looks like the road walking will soon come to an end

A stroll along Moor Lane - nice and easy at the moment, but some gradual ascent coming up.

A Forestry Commission Car Park as well ! - Handy if you wanted a shorter walk.

Interesting find - but on closer inspection, it's just for those pesky cyclists !

Back on the Cleveland Way for a while

Looking down from Whitestone Scar and viewing the descent I was about to take.

Here's my right turn

A gentle walk down from the escarpment over Kepwick Moor

Time for a spot of lunch in the sunshine with Nab Farm in the distance

Okay !

It's dangerous round these parts alright - what with vipers and wild cows - Hope I make it back !

And now back at Nether Silton - Just a few hours in the sun - but well worth it.
