Chop Gate & Nab End Moor

Thursday 3rd August 2017

An evening walk with my daughter Gemma.

We parked up at the Village Hall Car Park and then headed eastwards towards Ellermire Farms. I had wanted to follow the path past Cam House but somehow we lost the track and ended up back onto the roadside. To rectify this, we walked along the roadside until we reached the tree line and then turned left and headed upwards towards the ridge. Due to the high ferns - we thought it may be easier to cut through the woods parallel with the path. This spooked Gemma a bit and she wasn't overly impressed as I had to lift her over a barbed wire covered wall at the top !

We followed the Nab End Moor ridge until we turned left and followed the path back down to Chop Gate.

The highlight of this evenings walk was our drink & chat in the Buck Inn at Chop Gate including the lecture I got from Gem telling me to make sure I'd done a Rekkie before we do any other walks in the future !
