C2C Day 12 - Grosmont to Robin Hoods Bay

The glory walk - Feeling fit and in good spirits we are joined by quite a few today to do the final leg of the Coast to Coast. Gemma, Lauren & Calum joined us along with Brian, Paul & Matthew. We were happy in the knowledge that we would achieve what we had set out to do and looked forward to the last 16 miles and the celebrations that awaited at the end

En route, we visited Falling Foss, Littlebeck Wood and High Hawsker (for a beer) - before reaching the coastline and following it round to Robin Hoods Bay where we enjoyed the last hour or two in the sun outside the Bay Hotel and it's Wainwrights Bar with our family and friends. We were fortunate to also meet up with some of our walking companions that we'd chatted with over the last 12 days, who also arrived at roughly the same time. Boots were wetted in the North Sea and pebbles were despatched as tradition requires. Now to celebrate !

I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single minute of this long distance walk and have every intention of doing it again one day. I would whole heartedly recommend it.

And now to complete the tradition by sending those West Coast stones into the North Sea. Pebbles Away !

What a good looking bunch. We stayed for a couple of hours before heading for home - the end of a wonderful holiday. But we forgot to sign the book !! Never mind will remember to do it next time !!

It's painful to part after 12 days and nights - But great memories are made from times like these and this trail certainly started my passion for Long Distance Walking.
