Upper Nidderdale

Saturday 25th July 2020

A very pleasant day in Upper Nidderdale.

It was forecast for rain today, but things seemed to change and we were pleased to enjoy warm and sunny day in lovely surroundings. The waterproofs never came out of the bag - but with hindsight, should have popped some sun cream in really.

For todays walk, we parked up in the centre of Lofthouse and headed Northwards along the Nidderdale Way to Scar House Reservoir. After crossing over the dam - we walked over 'In Moor' (401m) and down to the Dales village of Middlesmoor. A lunch stop was called for, and the Crown was a great place to have a couple of beers and a nice meal in their beer garden. Suitably refreshed, it was on to Ramsgill before crossing the River Nidd and then heading back to Lofthouse.

A great day out with gentle walking and lovely views of the sumptuous countryside.
