A walk alongside Grasmere and Rydal Water - Lunch at the Badger Bar and return to Grasmere via the old Coffin Route
3D outline of route
A trip away with Debbie and Allan wouldn't be complete without a surprise or two ! My daughter and her friends turned up in the lakes to join us on our first walk - It was lovely to have them with us, what a lovely bunch
Already half an hour behind schedule ! hope there's still some chips left at the Badger Bar
First glimpse of Grasmere (the mere itself)
Serene and beautiful as always
Now - Who wouldn't put her proper walking shoes on?? Well done Chris, blister already and we've only gone 500 yards.
What a happy bunch - a kindly walker risked everything Covid and took a snap of us all.
Rydal Water with a backdrop of Nab Scar
Two of the favourite girls in my life - such wonderful company
Pelter Bridge at Rydal (or should I say Riddell) - only a few minutes to the pub now
Time for lunch and a beer or two
Not everybody was impressed about doing a little bit of ascent - The bank at Rydal Hall before picking up the Coffin Route
The spooky path - Here we go
A look back over Rydal Water from Nab Cottage
Love the Rhododendrons in the lakes at this time of year
The lovely Georgia - Came all the way from Australia to be on one of our walks
Not far from Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth museum
Now to show these young-uns how to drink !
