Loweswater, Fellbarrow & Low Fell

A great little circular incorporating a gentle walk around Loweswater, a steady climb along the Mosser Road and then the relatively easy ascent of Fellbarrow. It's an easy walk across to Low Fell with some of the best Lakeland views awaiting you. The descent from Low Fell is quite steep and grassy - but the girls found a way to do this in no time.

A nice pint of real ale awaits in the Kirkstile Inn with fine views of Mellbreak from the beer garden - One of my favourite places too.

Setting off from Maggies Bridge Car Park we walk around the western side of Loweswater - All wrapped up but it did warm up as the day went on.

The pace began to quicken

As the views got better and better

One of my favourite views in all of lakeland - On either side of Crummock Water stand Grasmoor to the left and Mellbreak to the right. The High Stile ridge can also be seen along with the diminutive Rannerdale Knotts.

Heading down - those waterproof bottoms are great for sliding down hills, aren't they girls !

Watch them go - That's the fastest descent I have ever seen. Soft smooth grass, shiny waterproof bottoms and a steep hillside - a great combination. Straight into the bracken waiting below ! I wish I could post the video on here
