A walk up the Walna Scar Road to Brown Pike, Buck Pike, Dow Crag and Coniston Old Man returning to the car park via the old slate mine workings. Nice lower down, but too much cloud up above 600m today.

Out of the Gloom appears Low Water as I descend from the Old Man.
Clearing up nicely now.
Serene and so eerie.
An interesting descent down through all the old mine workings - you keep imagining what it must have been like centuries ago - the route passes through the remains of the slate mine, with spoil heaps on all sides, and rusting iron cables along the track. with old mine workings and machinery, including the ruins of an old haulage engine and tramway.
Coniston Water re-appears and I can see the car park
