Dorset Day 2 - Chideock to Abbotsbury

Cliff top walking again for the first half of the day and then it was down to the western end of Chesil Beach, which was quite a bit of flat coastal walking. We soon learned that we didn't like the plodding along the shingle, so at West Bexington we headed slightly inland and picked up a country lane and then a path that went parallel to the coast and our intended route.

Abbotsbury is somewhere that I always wanted to stay, so I arranged the walk to suit. It was a cracking little village with plenty of history and also very picturesque. Our stay in the Abbey Rooms was one to remember, absolutely amazing with evening drinks in the sun overlooking the Abbey and breakfast on the lawn to look forward to.

Only small downside was that we were slightly let down by the quality of the two village pubs, which were to be honest, pretty poor. The Swan was the best of the two, but it didn't take much to beat the Ilchester Arms.
