Dorset Day 1 - Lyme Regis to Chideock

A reasonably short walk to start off the last section of the SWCP for us. But combine this with a long drive from the North east and then a taxi from Dorchester via Chideock to drop our bags off and get us to Lyme Regis, the first day of the Dorset coast was a quite a long and tiring one, plus there was still 2000ft of ascent to negotiate.

This 8 mile walk did have lots of wonderful cliff top walking although there were a few stiff climbs along the way too, but the views from the UK's southern coast highest point (the summit of Golden Cap) were excellent. It was great to get back onto the coast in glorious sunshine. Chideock was a small village with one good pub, The George ('The Clock' was closed down during our visit, so we didn't get to go there) - the food in The George was particularly good and the girls working there were good fun and made sure we got to watch the football on a big screen.
