Dorset Day 3 - Abbotsbury to Weymouth

A bit of farmland walking today which is inland and away from the coast for once, but is actually quite pleasant, then its along the coastline or should I say, 'Lagoon line' which was pretty isolated and average walking if I'm honest. Views of the main section of Chesil Beach are always in sight with a nature reserve to walk through too. As there wasn't a vast amount of choice of where to stay on the Isle of Portland (Fortuneswell is the only real place) and the guide book I looked at said that Fortuneswell is "scruffy". So, for once I decided that we would base ourselves somewhere two nights rather than one in the same place (Weymouth). Once we reached the causeway to Portland, we turned left and headed into Weymouth via the Rodwell Trail and onto our sea front accommodation - Gloucester House.

Weymouth was a nice place with plenty of pubs and restaurants, so two nights out there was certainly no hardship. We spent quite a bit of time in the 'Doghouse'. Read on.
