After a little 'hand to rock', the top of Cofa Pike is reached

Looking back towards the majestic St Sunday Crag

Arriving at the very flat topped Fairfield. One of the easiest places to make a navigation mistake, many walkers doing the Fairfield Horseshoe lose orientation and take a wrong path in bad weather here - usually picking up the main path back towards Patterdale (via St Sunday's Crag) rather than the correct one back to Ambleside. Easily done from this flat topped football pitch with few distinctive landmarks.

A view over towards Dove Crag and the buttress that contains the much sought after Priest Hole - You can see it if you look close enough.

The Priest Hole can be seen on this photo better - the black rectangular opening roughly central in the photo. Can be a tricky place to visit, so care is needed as there have been some serious falls here.
