Kirk Fell from Honister Pass

Not many people out enjoying the weather today ! A damp start from the Honister Pass

First landmark - the slate mine

Following the old track/tramway towards Fleetwith Pike

My walk took me via Moses Trod to Beck Head

There's Beck Head ahead - gloomy I'm afraid

My single target for the day - Kirk Fell

The descent from Kirk Fell to the Black Sail Pass is okay in decent weather - but it became problematic today in the heavy rain and very high winds at this reasonably exposed spot, so I opted for the alternative gully descent. Again okay, but it can become a bit of a slide and you do get covered in red dust/sludge (especially if wet - like today) - but hey ho - with waterproofs on I was easily cleaned. No photo's of the exact route I'm afraid, but here's looking back up towards the location of my descent (not the large gully - the route taken is hidden in the rocks to the right)

After a short visit to the top of Ennerdale (near the Black Sail Hut), it's up Loft Beck

The weather closed in and my camera (iphone) was tucked away - so nothing much else to share for the day.
