This is a great circular walk in arguably the best part of the lakes. Starting near the Old Dungeon Ghyll you go through Stool End Farm before taking a left into Oxendale. Heading up alongside Browney Gill to Red Tarn and then following the well defined path to and along the tops of the five Crinkle Crags. I was tempted to call in at Bowfell today too, but it was getting on. So at Three Tarns I turned right and followed the path down 'The Band' to the pub. A very enjoyable 4.5hrs.

Parking

Starting off from where I parked on the roadside near Wall End Farm - a view of Crinkle Crags at the head of Oxendale

Classic Langdale Pikes

As I head up Oxendale you can see Pike of Blisco and Cold Pike on the Left

Walking up alongside Browney Gill to Red Tarn - Great Knott can be seen to the right

Looking back down the Gill - you can see 'The Band' on the other side of Oxendale and also the prominent Pike of Stickle in the distance.

Crinkles with Bowfell to the far right

Past Red Tarn now the Langdales can still be seen.

Nearing all the Crinkley Crags

Looking back to Pike of Blisco - a favourite of mine

Oxendale - Great Langdale

No 1 Crinkle I think

Bad step on No2 coming up - always look at this and think about climbing it - but then go the easy route around to the left.

Starting my descent down The Band - Doesn't Pike of Blisco look magnificent

I find 'The Band' one of the most enjoyable ascents or descents in the Lake District - pure enjoyment !

Getting nearer Stool End

One last look over to Pike of Blisco and Cold Pike (Red Tarn is between the two at the col). Now for a pint at the ODG
