Winter Walk 2016 - Sutton Bank, Coxwold & Kilburn

Friday 26th February 2016

We were dropped off at the top of Sutton Bank by our minibus and then started the Winter Walk 2016 by heading past the White Horse and down to Kilburn where we all enjoyed a couple of beers in the Forresters to start the day. The country walk continued to Oldstead, but the pub was closed, so we pressed on to the Snever Observatory and then enjoyed lunch at The Wombwell Arms (Now Stapylton I believe) in Wass. This had a South African twist and with roaring open fires and good beer we stayed a bit longer than planned. Next stop was Byland Abbey then onto the Fauconburg at Coxwold where we joined a very lively and drunken wake - before returning to the Forresters at Kilburn again - this time with head torches in the dark. Last trip was the minibus back to Stockton High Street to finish off the Friday night. Muddy fields throughout - but a good day was had by all.
