Whiteside, Hopegill Head, Grasmoor, Whiteless Pike & Rannerdale Knotts.
After ten days of walking the South Devon coastline it was back to more familiar terrain. My friends son Robert is trying to bag all the Lake District 'Wainwrights' and we have been on many walks together with this as the aim. He is getting closer to the magic 214 with only 67 needed now, so planning a walk to bag as many as possible is not always as easy as it used to be. I picked this walk today as it all but wrapped up his North Western Fells - and we did it in an anti-clockwise way to limit the hardship to has dad (it seems slightly easier that way round).
A very enjoyable day although quite a hard walk at over 4000ft of ascent. Wandope could easily been added to the route, but additional unnecessary effort was a definite no-no for my guests today as they had already bagged that one.
