West Highland Way 2012

The route West Highland Way starts a few miles north of Glasgow in the town of Milngavie. After leaving the city and suburbs, the wild open landscapes gradually unfold revealing a diverse array of scenery, including lochs, mountains, forests and moors. The path is very well walked and signposted, but care is still required.

The distance to Fort William is about 100 miles and although we found it reasonably straightforward, we did notice there were many injuries amongst other walkers along the way (knee's, muscles and especially blisters) as if 'first time' long distance walkers were giving it a go and subsequently paying the price. It's not the hardest of walks, but the scenery is certainly spectacular,
