Pateley Bridge, Darley Mill, Summerbridge & Nidderdale Way Walk.

The weather was looking suspect in the Lake District today, so we switched our St Sunday Crag plans for a walk in the sunshine in Nidderdale. It was a good choice as the weather and scenery were glorious, although the heat was at times intense. We parked at Pateley Bridge and picked up the Nidderdale Way and headed southwards. We would have gone to the Red Lion at Dacre Banks for lunch, but unfortunately it didn't open till two, so we added a few extra miles to our day and enjoyed our lunch in the beer garden of the Wellington at Darley Mill.

After lunch we headed for Summerbridge enjoying a walk along the Nidd riverbank, before exploring the very interesting Glasshouses and its impressive old Mill and water storage features.
