South Downs Way 2013

The South Downs Way is 100 miles long and stretches from Winchester to Beachy Head/Eastbourne. Steeped in history there are ancient hill forts, barrows, a Roman road and deserted medieval villages along the way. The majority of the path is a bridleway and is generally easy walking. We managed to increase the overall distances walked on some of the legs by diverting to villages off the trail, for an afternoon beer or two. Most walkers won’t be daft enough to do this !

This walk was done well before I ever considered having a walking diary website, so the memories of those five days are limited - as are the photographs available for use. So, I'm recording what I have, but it falls short of the records that I would normally like to present.
