Sale Fell

Small parking area in the copse just beyond Wythop Mill - This is an ideal spot to start this walk and spaces are always available.

I had wanted to start this walk today from the roadside near Wythop Church (not far from the Pheasant Inn) - but the road was closed, think it was due to Forestry Commission works, so I parked here instead.

Through the gate and a sharp left turn - then it's straight into the climb.

Looking back at the sumptuously green lakeland view - Ling Fell can be seen in the distance.

The top of Sale Fell can be seen throughout - a short sharp climb, nothing more, to claim this little fell for you Wainwright baggers.

The grass is like a bowling green up here

Nothing much left at the summit - there's a few mounds of similar elevation, best to check them all out to make sure you visit the highest point up here.

Eastern most summit mound with views over to the Skiddaw range.

Another gentle and grassy descent as I head back down.

Picking up the farm road as I begin my return towards Wythop Mill and my car.

Through the gate and the walk is finished.
