As always with Ste & Robert - an air of unbounded excitement was prevalent as we prepared to set off from Seathwaite.
Base Brown can be seen in the background (and Seathwaite Fell just behind it - to the left) - but we're headed the other way for now, towards Seatoller and then up to Bessyboot.
The photo which drew many a comment !
Halfway up Rosthwaite Fell - keep going Ste, It'll soon be over.
From Bessyboot summit looking over towards Tarn at Leaves and the summit of Rosthwaite Fell
Bessyboot summit - Hot and sticky conditions today.
If I was ever asked which is the hardest place to navigate around in the lake district I would say this next section of todays walk. To go from Bessyboot to Glaramara always gives me problems, especially in bad visibility like today. The weather closed in and we had a few tricky moments getting round Combe Door. On a clear day it should be straightforward but I always seem to be there in poor visibility and today was certainly no exception.
Man of the Mountains !
After visiting Glaramara & Allen Crags plus a very quick dash to bag Seathwaite Fell for Robert (in next to no visibility), the cloud lifted as we descended from Styhead Tarn and we were finally greeted with some fine views of Borrowdale.
Finally some beautiful views of Borrowdale. A sight for sore eyes.
