Muker to Keld - A Swaledale Walk

Arriving at Muker with the weather a little more overcast than we were expecting.

I parked in the same car park just on the outskirts of the village that I had parked just a couple of months ago - but this time I was heading in a completely different direction.

Someone was a little cold - so the pace was initially quite fast.

A quick glance back as Muker disappears into the distance.

Crossing the River Swale for the first time today.

Gentle walking through the valley as we head Northwards.

A well known beauty spot just outside of Keld where the Coast to Coast path meets the Pennine Way - filming took place here for Julia Bradbury's C2C programme.

Half way on the walk we arrived at the very small hamlet of Keld and made our way up to Keld Lodge - Unfortunately for us it was closed for the Winter - Opens 1st April, so we had no mid-walk beer.

Never mind, the Farmers Arms in Muker will certainly be open.

Leaving Keld, we stayed on the other side of the Swale and followed the well defined path on the slopes of Kisdon.

We even had time for a quick selfie.

This is a very beautiful area, it looks even better with warm sunshine around - but not today I'm afraid, as the cloud cover held throughout the entire walk.

A very slight descent and we soon start walking along the side of the Swale.

Arriving back at Muker.

And straight to the pub !
