Cow Bridge, Brothers Water, Scandale Pass, Caiston Glen, Little Hart Crag & High Hartsop Dodd

A lovely spring day albeit with a chilly wind higher up.

With all the trouble in the world at the moment (Coronavirus), fortunately the Lake District is still open and walkers can still get exercise and the fix they need to function in life. It's a great place for isolation and as long as everyone is sensible, we should be able to continue visiting - although the fear is that stricter lockdown measures throughout the country will soon be implemented if we fail to control the spread.

For now though, we can still enjoy the joys of fell walking.

Post Blog Note : That didn't last long !! No more countryside walking allowed as the nation stays at home to stop the spread of this deadly virus. I hope we solve this serious problem quickly and we can all get back to enjoying life again - Stay safe everyone and take care. This will be my last entry into this diary for some time. I'm missing the Lakes already.

Parking

Setting off from Cow Bridge Car Park near Hartsop.

A lovely morning as we head down the path alongside Brothers Water. A fine view of Hartsop Dodd on the other side

Taking the Scandale Pass path (Caiston Glen) which turns to the left right at the front of High Hartsop Dodd.

This route is a lot easier than tackling High Hartsop Dodd from the off. That is a steep ascent.

Scandale Pass - Time for a spot of lunch as the wall will make a nice wind break from that chilly eastern wind

A right turn at the pass and a quick climb up to Little Hart Crag

The lovely gentle terrain between Little Hart Crag and High Hartsop Dodd. An easy stroll down to the top of the next fell.
