Hartsop Dodd & Cauldale Moor (Stoney Cove Pike)

Tuesday 5th May 2026

Hartsop Dodd & Cauldale Moor (Stoney Cove Pike).

A really enjoyable circular walk - a very steep ascent of Hartsop Dodd, but after that the walk is pretty straightforward and quite easy.

Unfortunately though, this walk was the last I was able to undertake for a while. I had been suffering with a pain/ache in my right foot for a few weeks and this walk certainly added to my suffering.

I have now had to put my walking on hold for a few weeks to get this sorted - It's Plantar Fasciitis, and its annoyingly painful, I've never had it before and had actually never even heard of it. I have exercises to do, plus ice bottles to roll under the arch of my foot and inflammation medication to take.

There's a big Long Distance Walk coming up in June, so I have to be ready for that.

So, it may go a bit quiet on my site for a few weeks now ! Hopefully not too long though.

Bye
