Parking alongside the A591 just outside of Grasmere - the norm for me now.
Wandering into Grasmere on this quiet Monday morning.
A right turn and onto the Easedale Tarn road.
A lovely spot just past Goody Bridge.
Many a photo taken here with Dav, Paul and even my lovely girls.
Following the lane which bypasses Lancrigg and heads into Far Easedale.
I don't think they need to worry about that anymore!
Wow ! Look at the new C2C signs - It's great to see progress being made and I really like the AW signature on the top of each one.
There was also signs that the Far Easedale path had been and was being improved by 'Fix the Fells' for the same National Trail reason I guess.
Lovely Far Easedale with Calf Crag in the distance.
Far Easedale Gill waterfalls.
Arriving at the crossroads, I took a right and headed up towards Calf Crag.
Not much to see now as I'd reached the cloud line - but Calf Crag is up there.
Looking at my records, Calf Crag is my joint top 'most visited' fell in 'recent' times, this is actually my tenth visit in 15 years - So I don't really mind if the visibility is poor, I've seen it plenty before.
Calf Crag summit with views of the clouds.
Heading downwards and coming out of the murk, Gibson Knott and Helm Crag start to come into view.
Looking back down into Far Easedale and my route up.
I stopped for lunch on the Northern side of Gibson Knott and enjoyed 15 minutes of hot coffee and views of Steel Fell.
Gibson Knott summit.
Heading towards Helm Crag surrounded by the remains of this years bracken.
The Howitzer - beyond me to climb to the top, but many do.
The Lion and the Lamb - looks more like a lion and a lamb from down on the roadside, a bit underwhelming up here I have to say.
Time to head back down - a nice descent, some even done on a carpet of soft green grass.
Lancrigg and their woodland walks.
The path goes past the Lancrigg Country House itself - this place has actually had many famous visitors, including: Robert Burns, Coleridge, Wilkie Collins, Charles Darwin, Charles Dickens, Tennyson and Wordsworth and me now.
For once I took a shortcut rather than going through the centre of Grasmere - I found it to be a pleasant stroll through woodland alongside the River Rothay.
Then it was time to hit the road back over the Pennines.
