C2C Day 7 - Keld to Richmond

The Swaledale Valley is one of the highlights of this walk for me. The Swale is such a beautiful river and the countryside is idyllic. There are sheep, dry stone walls, stone barns and rolling green hills a plenty. The walking is relatively gentle although we chose to do 24 miles in one hit rather than splitting it into two easy sections like a lot of walkers do, so it was still quite a hard day.

We visited Gunnerside, had our lunch in Reeth and then pressed on to Richmond via Marrick & Marske where Paul & Calum were waiting to meet us for the night out. We stayed in the Old Brewery B&B which was a really nice place giving us the option of all sorts of choices for breakfast. We still went for the full English mind, after due consideration.
