Arnison Crag, Birks & St Sunday Crag

Monday 2nd January 2017

One of those crisp clear & sunny days in the lakes - Cold but very still. A few inches of snow and it would have been perfect.

Our walk today in the Eastern Fells, started at Bridgend in Deepdale, just past Patterdale. We climbed Arnison Crag (Wainwrights first ever fell I believe), before Birks and then St Sunday Crag. We didn't go on to Fairfield but turned left at Deepdale Hause and headed back down the very icy path - into the valley (as the Skids would say) and back to the car.

A lovely day out - with a pint in Patterdale to finish the day off properly.
