Uldale Fells - Longlands Fell, Brae Fell, Great Sca Fell, Meal Fell & Great Cockup

A quiet Monday morning in a very quiet part of the lakes. I've never had any problems parking here, there's a few spaces where I parked today and a handful more around the bend.

Looking back towards the road as I set off for my first lakeland climb for 6 months.

I'd picked this walk as it's a very gentle one for re-starting on the fells. My foot problem had improved, but was still causing issue, so I decided to start cautiously and see how it stood up to the walk.

Longlands Fell (which will be the first to be visited today), can be seen on my right as I follow the Cumbria Way for a while.

Climbing up the wide grassy ridge of Longlands Fell, I was unsure what the weather had in store for me today - Was it going to be mild and dry? or wet and wild ? I didn't care, as I was walking in the fells again after such a long time, but I would find out soon enough.

The cloud soon rolled in and the wind picked up considerably - Soon it was waterproofs on as the rain lashed into me head on, driven by the strong wind. That was it for the next couple of hours - drenched but happy.

Finally, the sight of a bit of green as I drop below the cloud at Trusmadoor.

Slightly lower than the true summit, a second cairn is considerably more impressive.

I followed the path down the very wide ridge heading west.

Overwater can be seen to my right with Binsey in the distance.

Finally some views and the rain and wind had ceased too.

The Ullock Pike ridge can be seen with Bassenthwaite lake far off in the distance and this path took me back to the country lane which I followed all the way back to my car at Longlands.

After effects - Well, my foot seemed fine surprisingly, so it's full steam ahead for another walk it the lakes.
