South Cheshire Way Day 4 - Crewe to Congleton
We basically gave up on sticking to the South Cheshire Way (SCW) - We knew we’d missed so much of it the day before, that it didn’t really matter anymore, we may as well just continue with out end to end connection of our lands end to Scotland join the dots walk and just get to our next overnight stop at Congleton.
We did roughly walk along the way, sometimes on it, and sometimes nearby, but why take risks when the South Cheshire Way cannot be claimed as being fully walked anyway.
The walk did have some enjoyable parts - the canal walking up to Rode Heath was good, as was the iced coke at The Broughton Arms and the ice cream at Halton Farm.
But we arrived at The lamb Inn guesthouse at Congleton slightly earlier than we should have done - time to relax and plan a good night out, and a good night out it was - good meal in The Orange Tree and the onto the Little Cellar to enjoy good beer and some live music.
Congleton is a pretty good place and The Lamb Inn Guesthouse was exceptional.
