Sale Fell & Ling Fell

Roadside parking on the Wythop Mill road. Plenty of cars here this morning - most folk seemed to be taking their dogs for some exercise. I was taking my mate Paul.

Heading out onto the flank of Sale Fell leaving the roadside behind.

Bassenthwaite Lake comes into view as height is quickly gained.

There's many routes up, I chose to head round clockwise before turning right and heading straight up to the top.

The grassy and 'flatish' top of Sale Fell. Easily ascended whichever route you take.

Not totally sure, but I consider this as the highest point - there's a few to choose from, but this will be it for us. Now off to the next fell.

A gentle, and again grassy, descent westwards. I do love these bowling green paths.

Ling Fell in the distance, looking larger than it really is, as we head down to Brumston Bridge and the tarmac.

Brumston Bridge near Wythop - I've started many a walk from here in the past.

Another gentle and easy climb with a multitude of route options to take brings you to the top of Ling Fell.

Didn't take him long to get up, but one hell of a job getting back down again ! I think we should call it a 'Piggy Back' style descent, if you can picture that.

To finish off, it was a bit of country lane walking back to the car.

An easy walk done in nice warm weather, ideal considering our injuries - now for a couple of beers in The Pheasant Inn.
