North Devon - Day 4 - Combe Martin (Berrynarbor) to Woolacombe

Wednesday 3rd July 2019

Day 4 of our North Devon walk took us from Combe Martin to Woolacombe. A long stretch, not quite as tough as the previous day but still well over 3000ft ascent. The weather was again hot & sunny and spirits were high after a great stopover the night before.

Our path today takes us through the busy seaside town of Ilfracombe and round Morte Point where it's as if the Bristol Channel meets the great Atlantic Ocean as the water appears to clash in strange wave formations - maybe this is what helped produce the magnificent Woolacombe beach with mile after mile of golden sand to admire.

We spotted our first seal at Morte Point - and many more lobster pot buoys - which we also assumed were seals until closer inspection was had.
