North Devon - Day 2 - Porlock to Lynmouth

Monday 1st July 2019

Plenty of woodland walking on this stretch - probably too much. We felt starved of those beautiful coastal views which we were expecting.

It was interesting to see (and hear) the trees precariously overhanging the coast line, creaking as they clung onto the disappearing ground beneath them. We actually waited for 5 minutes as on 50ft tree appeared to be going to fall at any second, but it didn't. Casualties could be seen all around though as it appeared that this was a common event.

After having overhead cover for a lot of the day, we arrived at the pretty town of Lynmouth in the late afternoon sunshine and enjoyed our first beer before checking in at our B&B.
