High Street, The Knott, Rampsgill Head, High Raise (Martindale) and Kidsty Pike

One of my favourite walks from Mardale Head, - a great ridge climb to High Street via Rough Crag and Long Stile. A short visit to The Knott, Rampsgill Head and High Raise (Martindale) before starting the descent back down from Kidsty Pike. Highly recommend.

Parked up nice and early at Mardale Head

Some of the old dry stone walls from the water flooded Mardale village can be seen at the moment

View back down to the Mardale Head car park from the ascent towards Rough Crag. You can see the Gatesgarth path heading up between Branstree and Harter Fell on the other side

The path up Rough Crag snakes along the side of the ridge making for terrific fell walking

After the climb up Long Stile - the High Street plateau is reached. Here is the summit

After brief visits to The Knott, Rampsgill Head and then an out and back to High Raise - I reached the lofty vantage point of Kidsty Pike, recognised by everyone who has followed the coast to coast path
