A relatively easy walk around Richmond with a visit to the very quiet village of Hudswell.
This is a walk I did with my wife some years ago, but as my daughter and her friends (a Hen Party) are staying nearby this weekend and had asked me for a country walk with a pub stop in the middle, I suggested they all do this one - but as it was a while back, I thought I'd better just check it out again to make sure it's still suitable - It is fortunately.
As I remembered, there is a stiff climb up some steps from the river back up to Hudswell, but other than that it's reasonably straightforward. The muddy sections that we encountered previously seem to have been dealt with as these areas are now walked on with a new solid base. I also kept on high ground initially from Hudswell this time, which, to be fair, is also an improvement.
So having spotted many 'treasure hunt' locations along the way, all I have to do is sit back and worry that 12 drunken girls don't get lost out in North Yorkshire this Saturday !
