Hart Side, Stybarrow Dodd, Watsons Dodd, Great Dodd & Clough Head.

Saturday 10th December 2016

A visit to all the Dodds today in the Eastern Fells. Dockray is my starting point, a few parking spaces - usually free by the river in this sleepy little hamlet.

I headed away from Dockray, westwards and climbed up to Swinside Knott (553m) and then up to my first Wainwright of the day - Hart Side. Next was Stybarrow Dodd and Watsons Dodd before continuing this very easy high level walking to Great Dodd, Calfhow Pike and finally Clough Head.

I descended Clough Head down to the Old Coach Road where I climbed over a barbed wire fence but managed to slip on the slimy wooden angled post and fall head first into the bracken on the other side - sliding in like a torpedo ! Thank goodness I was on my own and nobody was around to see my comedy of errors ! Although I suppose that's one of the dangers of doing these walks on your own.

Anyway - a bit shook up, I followed the very long 'Old Coach Road' all the way back to Dockray - A great circular walk.

No photos taken today.
