Dales Way - Day 2 - Grassington to Hubberholme

Setting off from our very pleasant accommodation - we immediately re-join the Dales Way path and say farewell to the lovely Yorkshire town of Grassington.

'Man of the Mountains' is back ! He limited his attendance this year to just one day as most struggled to keep up with his athletic prowess and pace setting capabilities

The group stops for a while to observe a yearly event. As always, spotted by Ste - a lone Wheatear can be seen (or should we say "White Ear) - Now, Is it spring, autumn or summer plumage ??, only one of us knows ! We also spotted a Hen Harrier, never seen one of those before - an exciting day all round.

Arriving at Buckden Bridge where we turned left to head for our overnight stop at Hubberholme. Our luck had run out weather-wise - the rain was now getting heavier and our plans to sit outside the Buck at Buckden had to be cancelled. It was decided that we should have a pint in the George instead, before three of the group headed for home.

A church, a pub and a farm is all we could find here. But that's enough really - plus we had a really good night in the George. A four hundred year old pub with a lovely fire, enjoyable conversation and the best fish and chips I have ever had ! A mention to Ed & Jackie who were great company !
