Day 8 - Richmond to Danby Wiske
We had decided to split the vale of Mowbray up into 2 days rather than one very long one. This gave us two relatively easy days and a chance to recover a bit, but also an unexpected benefit was that it allowed some of our new found friends to catch up, which was a real blessing.
This leg was pretty 'average' really - a few interesting places along the way, one was an archaeological dig at the roadworks as we crossed the A1(M) and then at Bolton-on-Swale there was the Church grave/memorial of Henry Jenkins - apparently he was 169 years old ! Other than that the day was very hot, but the best bit was sitting outside the White Swan in Danby Wiske enjoying some cold beers upon our arrival.
As we were not too far away from our homes in Teesside - some relatives called in to enjoy a good catch up with us on the evening - Apparently tomorrow is going to be even hotter !
