Aysgarth Falls & Bolton Castle Circular Walk

Aysgarth Falls & Bolton Castle Circular Walk.

After struggling all week with a bout of man-flu (yep - not nice for us poor blokes), I shelved plans to climb Whin Rigg & Illgill Head in the Lakes as I just wasn't back to full fitness yet and wanted something a little gentler. So, after a bit of thought, I decided to venture into Wensleydale again and visit Castle Bolton and walk past the Aysgarth Falls. It was just right, a nice easy walk with plenty of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside to enjoy and fresh air to breathe again.

I chose to park at Carperby, but starting points could have been Aysgarth, Castle Bolton or even Redmire had I wanted. I was fortunate to miss the very heavy downpours in the morning and enjoyed a dry and even sunny few hours of pleasant exercise.

A circular walk that I would certainly highly recommend.
