The Esk Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in England and our section today takes us from Danby to Grosmont via Lealholm, Glaisedale & Egton Bridge. This summer walk took us seven hours in total, but it has to be said that we spent a lot of the time in the pubs along the way, I'd say its more like 3.5 to 4 hours of actual walking.
We started at the Duke of Wellington in Danby and then had lunch at the Board at Lealholm, stops at The Arncliffe Arms in Glaisedale followed by the very friendly Horseshoe Inn and then the very unfriendly Postgate Inn, both at Egton Bridge before we completed our day in the steam engine town of Grosmont (Station Tavern). It was then a train journey back to Teesside to finish the day with a couple more before closing time.
Another Good One ! Not many photos of the countryside I'm afraid.
