Rannerdale Knotts, Whiteless Pike, Wandope, Hopegill Head, Whiteside

Saturday 21st September 2019

A great day out on the fells. Starting at Lanthwaite, a gentle stroll along the road to Rannerdale Knotts and then the work starts. Up to Whiteless Pike and Wandope via Whiteless Edge with wonderful views (especially back towards Crummock Water and Buttermere). The sun was lovely today, but it was so windy - We struggled to chat at times as we couldn't hear each other and were always in danger of being blown off balance.

We did consider doing Grasmoor whilst walking past it, but decided against it today - we felt we were already doing enough for the day and pressed on to Coledale Hause and Hopegill Head before heading back down via the steep descent of Whiteside.

A hard circular walk of about 4000ft ascent - but very enjoyable and cracking views throughout. Great one to do on a clear day.
