Pennine Way Day 8 - Hawes to Tan Hill

Saturday 30th October 2021

Hawes to Tan Hill took us 17 miles to complete. The highlights of our re-arranged day 8 included Great Shunner Fell, Thwaite, Keld and Tan Hill itself. Great Shunner Fell is the third highest fell in the Yorkshire Dales and Tan Hill is the highest pub in England.

Swaledale is one of my favourite places anywhere and I've enjoyed walking in this area for many years, it was always going to be a highlight for me to do this section of the walk although I would have preferred to do it in shorts in the summer, but as you can see from Day 7, I had to temporarily suspend our Pennine Way walk due to injury.
