Pennine Way Day 7 - Horton-in-Ribblesdale to Hawes

This stage runs 14 miles from Horton in Ribblesdale to the famous Yorkshire town of Hawes and it's well known Wensleydale Cheese factory. On a clear day there are stunning panoramic views over the Ribble Valley although we were not so lucky as early doors there was plenty of mist and low cloud. We could barely see the Ribblehead Viaduct as we passed.

The Pennine Way also briefly meets other famous walking routes in the area including the Yorkshire 3 Peaks round and the Dales Way.

A reasonably easy stretch although again done on mostly hard ground.

This was my last day of this long distance walk, we had planned on doing it in two halves, mainly due to work commitments and this half was meant to be 9 days - finishing at Middleton. However, I unfortunately developed an injury which meant we cut the walk by 2 days - therefore this is to be continued later this year..
