Walking Diary (All Walks) North Yorkshire & Co Durham Easy Walks North Yorkshire Moors

Parked up in Kilburn and enjoyed the few hours of reasonably gentle walking with my daughter. We followed the country lane to the top of the hill taking a left turn near the White Horse and then followed the escarpment joining the Cleveland Way at Sutton Bank. We turned right at the Gallops and headed back the way we came via the Glider Club

Parking

Walking up the road from Kilburn the White Horse comes into view. The White Horse dates back to 1857 when it was cut into the limestone by a local schoolmaster and his pupils - you can get right up close to it from the escarpment above or down the side via some steps.

The return journey takes you past the local gliding club at the top of Sutton Bank
