C2C Day 3 - Stonethwaite to Patterdale

Wednesday 13th July 2016

Stonethwaite to Patterdale, a very long hard day.

We thought Stonethwaite to Grasmere would be too short, but to Patterdale was probably pushing it a bit, especially doing the Helm Crag high level route as well. We added it in for Robert, to help him with his Wainwright bagging - but we certainly were tired in the White Lion that evening. It still didn't stop us enjoying a night with our new found friends all the same.

This leg is lakeland in all its glory, beautiful central fells, with surrounding views around Borrowdale, Greenup Gill, Greenup Edge and Easedale before crossing the A591 at Grasmere and heading up Great Tongue to Grisedale Hause and to Patterdale via the Grisedale valley. You can even see Ullswater in the distance. I think you can call this a lakeland classic.
